DescriptionWalnut stock has a check indentation in left side of butt. Bayonet stud is under the barrel, furniture is of brass except the swivels and the middle band. All three bands are retained by stud band springs inletted into the stock. Upper brass band is 3.5" long marked "N S". Middle band is of iron, 4.5" long with an elliptical sling swivel, 1.89" wide. The rear or lower brass band is 1" wide and marked on bottom: "N S". Trigger guard is of brass, 4.75" long. Iron tang is of 5.5" long with two finger recesses. There is a iron sling swivel forward of the trigger guard. Butt plate is of brass, rounded 4.5" x 2" wide. Tang is 2.25" long and marked with the letter "C". Ramrod which is missing was of iron with a pear-shaped head. The lock plate is 6.25" long x 1.25" wide with no markings. Hammer is double necked with rounded edges. Stock has a crack forward of the lock plate and has two small pieces of wood missing in this in this area. Condition Good. ca. 1775
